Jesús de Miguel dies: Spanish football halts competitions until 6 November

Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel has died after colliding with the opposing goalkeeper during a second-division match, according to L'Équipe. RMC Sport reports that Andorra's goalkeeper, Jesus Owono, 25, was directly involved in the contact.

The Spanish football federation (RFEF) has called off every match scheduled for Tuesday 3 November, in both the men's and women's cup competitions, according to Hespress FR. Foot Mercato adds that the suspension runs until 6 November, in solidarity with Tenerife and the football family.
