Philadelphia 76ers have asked the NBA for a disabled player exception because Ariel Hukporti's Achilles rupture rules him out for the year, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report and The Stein Line (via Hoops Rumors).
The centre was hurt in his first preseason outing and went under the knife soon after, the same report says.
On the floor, the Sixers top the NBA with 3 points after 4 matches. They lost 93-106 to Detroit Pistons on 25 October, having beaten Milwaukee Bucks 127-116 and Cleveland Cavaliers 114-106.
Next comes Indiana Pacers v Philadelphia 76ers on 28 October, 23:00 Casablanca time.
