Villarreal collapsed at home to Paris Saint-Germain (0-6) on Tuesday 3 November in the Champions League. According to RMC Sport, PSG made a start never before seen in the competition, scoring four goals in under 17 minutes.
RMC Sport also reports that hundreds of Villarreal supporters left the stadium at half-time. Foot Mercato says it was a night the club will remember for a long time, with players and coach seeming to have hit rock bottom afterwards.
Marcelino's side, who count Morocco's Ilias Akhomach among their players, must recover quickly: they had already lost 0-1 to Espanyol on 30 October. They are 9th in LaLiga with 12 points after 11 matches and host Getafe on 8 November at 17:30 Casablanca time.
