Elmore Smith set the NBA record for blocks in a single game, BasketUSA reports. On 28 October 1973, the Lakers player recorded 17 blocks.
According to the outlet, the feat came in the very first season in which blocks were counted, so he wrote his name into the books just as the statistic appeared on the stat sheet.
In the current standings, the Philadelphia 76ers lead the NBA with 3 points.
