NBA: Knicks admit an error after trapping their own staff with a fake email

The Knicks concede they got it wrong with a message promising champions' rings that was in fact a cybersecurity test.

The Knicks have acknowledged an error, according to BasketUSA. The NBA franchise had emailed its employees promising them championship rings.

The message was in fact an operation designed to strengthen the franchise's cybersecurity, not a genuine reward. Staff were caught out by an email built to test them, and the promise of rings was only the bait.

In the NBA standings, the Philadelphia 76ers lead with 2 points.
