Strasbourg have made official a contract extension for Samir El Mourabet, who is now tied to the club until 2031, according to Foot Mercato. The club announced it on Wednesday after several months of negotiations.
According to Hesport, the midfielder was born in Strasbourg and joined the club's academy aged 10, and the deal reflects the club's faith in his abilities. Foot Mercato describes him as a local product from the Cité de l'Ill, north of the city.
On the pitch, Strasbourg are 16th in Ligue 1 with 7 points after 8 matches, and they lost 3-0 at Rennes last time out. Next up is Auxerre at home on 1 November at 14:00 Casablanca time.
