Lille president Olivier Létang banned for four months

The FFF appeals committee toughens the sanction over Lille-PSG, and the club says it will appeal before the trip to Rennes.

Lille president Olivier Létang has been suspended for four months. According to L'Équipe, the FFF appeals committee punished his comments aimed at referees after Lille-PSG (2-2) on 28 August in Ligue 1, as Foot Mercato also reports.

RMC Sport says the sentence is six months, two of them suspended. In the first instance, Létang had received only a €20,000 fine.

In a statement reported by L'Équipe, the club says the ruling sets a worrying precedent for football and that it intends to pursue every necessary avenue of appeal.

On the pitch, second-placed Lille, on 18 points after 9 matches in Ligue 1, travel to Rennes on 8 November at 14:00 Casablanca time.
