Lens supporters will not be able to travel to Lille for the Derby du Nord, the 9th round of Ligue 1. According to L'Équipe, an order from the prefect of the Nord has officially banned the trip.
According to RMC Sport, the club had already taken that decision itself, as a sanction after the behaviour of part of the Lens away section in Bruges in the Champions League. It was a strong move, made without pressure from the authorities.
On the pitch, Lens are 7th in Ligue 1 with 13 points after 8 matches and come into the game on a 2-1 win over Paris FC. Kick-off at Lille is on Friday 30 October at 20:05 Casablanca time. Historically, Lille lead 8 wins to 3 in 14 meetings, with 3 draws.
