Michael Carrick is in the spotlight at Manchester United. After the 4-1 defeat at Como on 21 October in the Champions League, the British press is questioning the England coach's future.
According to Sky Sports, whose paper round reports it, Eddie Howe would be Jason Wilcox's choice if United replace Carrick. BBC Sport describes a cycle of doom that has gripped every United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson, while Foot Mercato speaks of chaos at the club.
The results add to the pressure: a 2-0 loss at Atlético Madrid on 13 October, a 1-1 draw at Leeds United on 18 October, then the Como defeat. United are 13th in the Premier League with 7 points after 7 matches. Next comes Bournemouth on 25 October at 14:00 Casablanca time, with Noussair Mazraoui in the squad.
