Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United's captain, started on the bench against Bournemouth on Sunday 25 October in the Premier League, according to L'Équipe and RMC Sport. He had criticised head coach Michael Carrick's tactical choices four days earlier.
His comments followed the 4-1 defeat at Como on 21 October. Without him in the starting line-up, United then lost 3-0 to Bournemouth. They have 7 points after 8 matches and sit 16th.
Fernandes had started all 12 of his appearances this season, with 4 goals and 1 assist. United's next match is Chelsea v Manchester United on 31 October at 12:30 Casablanca time in the Premier League.
